Softball Game Preview: West Brook Bruins vs. Nederland Bulldogs

The West Brook Bruins will head out to square off against the Nederland Bulldogs at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. West Brook is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

West Brook came up short against Port Neches-Groves on Friday, falling 15-1.

West Brook saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kya Hadnot (2025), who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Nederland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Lee on Friday as Nederland made off with a 12-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Ganders: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Emmy Chambless, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Reese Robbins also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Nederland pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for West Brook, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

West Brook suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Nederland in their previous meeting back in March of 2016. Can West Brook avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
