Coconino took a ten-run  loss the last time they faced off against Mingus, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Marauders on Friday, sneaking past  15-14. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their one-run performance the  matchup before.
 Corbin Derr was a standout: he got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  doubles, two  RBI,  and one  run. That's the most  doubles  he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jake Hanley, who  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  runs and one  RBI.
 Coconino was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .375. They are  a perfect 7-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
With the  win, Coconino broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-15-1. As for Mingus,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 8-17-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coconino will square off against Independence at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.24  runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mingus, they will face off against Mesquite at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday. The Marauders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 9.1  runs per game this season.
