Football Recap: Rio Rico Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Rio Rico kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a blow against the Combs Coyotes, falling 56-0.

Even if they lost, Rio Rico's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Josue Bonilla was especially locked on to Combs' QB and sacked him twice.

Branson Moak was a one-man wrecking crew For Combs. as he rushed for 173 yards and four TDs on only eight carries. Moak showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 53 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Skyler Lawrence, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Looking ahead, Rio Rico will host Nogales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Combs, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Rincon/University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
