Rockmart is on a three-game streak of home wins, while North Murray is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Yellowjackets will host the Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rockmart knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully North Murray likes a good challenge.
Rockmart is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Murray County 65-10 on Friday. With the Yellowjackets ahead 44-3 at the half, the game was all but over already.

It was another big night for Nate Davis, who rushed for 180 yards and two scores on only eight carries. Those 180 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Tucker Parson was another key player, throwing for 259 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rockmart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, North Murray was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They secured a 21-16 W over Coahulla Creek. Given the Mountaineers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Colts are ranked 306th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Murray's win came from a few key players Rockmart will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hudson Hulett, who rushed for 138 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 60 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 138 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Layten Myers, who rushed for 85 yards and one score on only 11 carries.
North Murray's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Rockmart, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Rockmart has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 211.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like North Murray struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 292.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Rockmart took their win against North Murray in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 28-7 score. Will the Yellowjackets repeat their success, or do the Mountaineers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
