Baseball Game Preview: Portland Christian Royals vs. Clatskanie Tigers

Portland Christian is 0-10 against Clatskanie since May of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Royals will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Portland Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Union/Cove, sneaking past 15-14. The Royals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Donovan Endres, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Portland Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-9 otherwise. Michael Thurber was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Portland Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April.

Portland Christian now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Clatskanie, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.

Portland Christian came up short against Clatskanie when the teams last played back in April, falling 5-2. Can the Royals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
