Basketball Game Preview: Mesick Bulldogs vs. Pentwater Falcons

Mesick and Pentwater are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Mesick Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Pentwater Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mesick has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Mesick turned things around against Suttons Bay on Wednesday. They escaped with a win against the Norsemen by the margin of a single free throw, 53-52.

It was another big night for Issac Stroh, who posted 26 points. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Jackson Abraham, who earned 11 points.

Meanwhile, Pentwater unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They lost to Onekama on the road by a 60-44 margin. The contest marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Mesick's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Pentwater, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.

Mesick took a serious blow against Pentwater in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 68-29. Can Mesick avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
