Basketball Preview: St. Mary's Rams vs. Lodi Flames
St. Mary has been on the road for three straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Lodi Flames at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Saturday, St. Mary's suffered a rough 80-57 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
The losing side was boosted by Daniel Huerta, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Ward, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lodi came up short against the Trojans last Friday and fell 67-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (56), Lodi still had to take the loss.
St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Lodi, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-10.
St. Mary's came out on top in a nail-biter against the Flames when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 59-57. Will St. Mary's repeat their success, or do the Flames have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
