Basketball Recap: Pickering Takes a Loss

Pickering was the 61-34 winner over Hicks when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Pickering Red Devils took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hicks Pirates on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (56), the Red Devils still had to take the loss.

Pickering dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Hicks, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

Pickering won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Singer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pickering knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Singer likes a good challenge. As for Hicks, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Oak Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Hicks' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.
