            Volleyball Recap: Desert Vista Thunder vs. Corona del Sol Aztecs        
        
		
        
        
            
Desert Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight  defeat. They lost  3-0 to the Corona del Sol Aztecs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aztecs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-0  back in September.
 The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-15,  25-11.
 MaryElla Owens paced Desert Vista's offense, picking up five kills. Owens were helped by Heidi Chair and  Emerson Ortiz, who contributed eight assists each.
 Corona del Sol was led to victory by  Avalon Legg and  Brenna Walsh.  Legg  had nine  digs and five  aces, while  Walsh  had 11  digs. That's the most  aces  Legg has posted since back in November of 2024.
Desert Vista's loss dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Corona del Sol, their victory bumped their record up to 31-6.
 Looking ahead, Desert Vista will take on Mountain Ridge at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Corona del Sol does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
