Softball Recap: Fairmont Senior Triumphs

Fairmont Senior's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They skirted past the Roane County Raiders 6-5.

Michaela Egidi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Fairmont Senior let Addison Stewart and Sadie Rundle run wild. Stewart went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Rundle went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Stewart a new career-high. Kylie Corwin also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Fairmont Senior's record is now 6-7-1. As for Roane County, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 9-5 record.

Fairmont Senior will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders: the pair will be back at it again later today.
