Volleyball Recap: Zanesville Blue Devils vs. Newark Catholic Green Wave
Zanesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 29th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Newark Catholic Green Wave, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.
Zanesville took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-9, 25-10.
Violet Hill paced Zanesville's offense, picking up two kills. Hill got some help from Abigail Ormond and her two assists.
Newark Catholic can attribute much of their success to Veronica Bailey, who had nine digs and one assist.
