Soccer Game Preview: St. Margaret's vs. Collegiate

The St. Margaret's Scotties will head out to square off against the Collegiate Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: St. Margaret's has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Collegiate will arrive with eight straight victories.

St. Margaret's fell victim to Veritas School and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Collegiate faced Deep Run in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats, sneaking past 1-0. Collegiate wouldn't have won without Logan Lombard, who scored the game-winner.

Collegiate's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six games. As for St. Margaret's, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

St. Margaret's might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Collegiate in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Scotties avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
