League recap: Rivas overpowering for Monte Del Sol in past week

2A District 6 league recap: 3/27/13

Eduardo Rivas was the top pitcher in 2A District 6 this week, leading Monte Del Sol. Over the past week, he had two wins and 25 Ks.

The Dragons outpaced the rest of the league this week, as their four total wins led the league. Monte Del Sol beat Mora 19-6, Questa 8-0, Jemez Valley 10-0 and Santa Fe Prep 5-0.

The Dragons' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 21 hits and 27 walks to lead the league in both categories.

Rivas led the league with two wins and 25 strikeouts this week.

Four batters hit over .400 this week. The group was paced by Peter Bartlett, who collected eight hits in 12 at bats for a .667 average.



Rivas led Monte Del Sol to a win on March 22, as he notched 15 strikeouts to beat the Blue Griffins, 5-0.

The Dragons' Antonio Tapia threw six shutout innings in an 8-0 win over the Wildcats on Saturday. He struck out 11, allowing two hits.
