Baseball Game Preview: Nitro Wildcats vs. Ravenswood Red Devils

The Nitro Wildcats will square off against the Ravenswood Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Things were looking good for Nitro after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 6-2 to Winfield. The Wildcats have struggled against the Generals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Ravenswood fell victim to Williamstown and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Yellowjackets. The Red Devils' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Ravenswood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Hickman, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Nitro's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Ravenswood, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Nitro beat Ravenswood 3-0 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
