ACERO Garcia scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Cruz Dragons by a score of 51-49. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

ACERO Garcia dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Cruz, they moved to 2-12 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ACERO Garcia will head out to face off against Cristo Rey Jesuit at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. As for Cruz, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Christian Heritage Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
