Basketball Recap: Alcester-Hudson Starts Season with Loss at Home

Alcester-Hudson unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. The match between them and the Akron-Westfield Westerners didn't end well, with the Alcester-Hudson Cubs falling 46-31. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Westerners apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

The victory got Akron-Westfield back to even at 2-2.

Alcester-Hudson will challenge Gayville-Volin at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Akron-Westfield, they will face off against Harris-Lake Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Akron-Westfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
