Baseball Recap: Immokalee Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Immokalee's offense. They fell just short of the First Baptist Academy Lions by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. The Indians have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Alex Vinton was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Immokalee's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for First Baptist Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Immokalee will square off against East Lee County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for First Baptist Academy, they will challenge Naples Classical at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in First Baptist Academy's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Naples Classical has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
