Baseball Recap: St. Thomas More Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, St. Thomas More couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 4-0 to the Whitnall Falcons on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Cavaliers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Ethan Rudolph spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, St. Thomas More saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Alivo, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

St. Thomas More's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Whitnall, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

While St. Thomas More had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
