Volleyball Recap: Theodore Birdsong Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Western

There's no place like home for Clark, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Western Warriors with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.

While Clark won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-17.

Clark got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Theodore Birdsong out in front who had three aces and two blocks. That's the most aces Birdsong has posted since back in March. Jermaine Simmons was another key player, getting ten kills, four aces, and one block.

Clark's win bumped their record up to 2-14. As for Western, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clark will venture away from home to take on Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Western, they will head out to face off against Cheyenne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
