Football Game Preview: Bayshore Bruins vs. Lakewood Ranch Mustangs + Official Tickets

Bayshore hasn't had much luck against Lakewood Ranch recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bruins will head out to square off against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Things were looking good for Bayshore after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 23-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gibbs. Despite 117 more yards than the Gladiators, the Bruins couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jaydis Wiley, who threw for 269 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt. He has become a key player for Bayshore: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 250 passing yards, but 2-4 otherwise. Jayden Gibson was Wiley's top target, picking up 152 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 36 points the game before, Lakewood Ranch was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 29-10 bruising from Parrish Community. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Bulls are ranked 109th).

Bayshore now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Lakewood Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Bayshore might still be hurting after the 26-0 loss they got from Lakewood Ranch in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Bruins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
