Recap: Mater Dei Knights vs. Pinckneyville Panthers
The Mater Dei Knights waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Pinckneyville 56-25 on the road. Given Mater Dei's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Pinckneyville is ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Maris Zurliene continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with two steals. Avery Trame was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Mater Dei pushed their record up to 23-6 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Pinckneyville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-13.
Mater Dei does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pinckneyville also has no future games currently scheduled.
