Softball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Eisenhower's Winning Streak

Eisenhower dropped their record down to 7-2 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Colton Yellowjackets, falling 10-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Eisenhower saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paige Hamner, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

As for Colton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.4 runs.

On Colton's side, JASMINE DELAROSA made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. DELAROSA has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.

In other batting news, STEPHANIE DELACRUZ was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. DESIREE ARMENTA was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Eisenhower wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-5 win against Bloomington on the 18th. As for Colton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-0 victory against Rialto on the 18th.
