Softball Game Preview: Reeds Spring Wolves vs. Crane Pirates

The Reeds Spring Wolves will square off against the Crane Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Reeds Spring is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

If Reeds Spring beats Crane with six runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Wolves beat Forsyth on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-5.

Meanwhile, Crane earned an 8-3 victory over Southwest on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won three in a row.

Raegan Jackson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Custer, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Reeds Spring's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Crane, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Reeds Spring got the 'W' in their previous meeting on Saturday against Crane by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
