Twiggs County extends home losing streak to seven

The Twiggs County Cobras's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They fell just short of Glascock County by a score of 44-42. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Twiggs County in their matchups with Glascock County: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Twiggs County saw an underclassman step up: Jaida Pearson scored 17 points along with five steals. That was a full 40.5% of Twiggs County's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Shafrasia Young, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two steals.

Twiggs County bumped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Glascock County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Twiggs County will face off against Hancock Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hancock Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Glascock County, they will head out on the road to square off against Johnson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Johnson County is ranked 333rd, while Glascock County is ranked 335th).
