Softball Recap: Fort Wayne Snider Comes Up Short

Fort Wayne Snider dropped their record down to 9-13 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 11-0 to the South Adams Starfires. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Fort Wayne Snider saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ameera Kummer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Kummer has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

As for South Adams, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-4. Considering they have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On South Adams' side, not much got past Shelby Weigel, who gave up just four hits to keep Fort Wayne Snider off the board.

On the hitting side, Bekah Patterson was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Mackenzie Neuenschwander also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Coming up, Fort Wayne Snider will square off against Garrett at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for South Adams, they will challenge Churubusco at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
