Basketball Game Preview: Highland Springs Springers vs. Monacan Chiefs

The Highland Springs Springers will head out to face off against the Monacan Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Springers fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They walked away with a 76-63 victory over Deep Run on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Monacan beat Manchester 85-77 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Chiefs in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won three in a row.

Highland Springs and Monacan were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2015, but Highland Springs came up empty-handed after a 45-44 defeat. Can the Springers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
