Basketball Game Preview: Tustin Tillers vs. Calvary Chapel Eagles

The Tustin Tillers will venture away from home to face off against the Calvary Chapel Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Tustin took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Portola 64-28. The Tillers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel posted their closest victory since January 29, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Rancho Alamitos, sneaking past 61-59. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Calvary Chapel is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Tustin, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.

Tustin skirted past Calvary Chapel 51-49 in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Will Tustin repeat their success, or does Calvary Chapel have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
