Baseball Game Preview: Central Noble Cougars vs. Garrett Railroaders

Central Noble hasn't had much luck against Garrett recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cougars will challenge the Railroaders at 5:30 p.m. Central Noble will be strutting in after a victory while Garrett will be coming in after a defeat.

Central Noble is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with an 8-4 win over West Noble on Monday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Corbin Douglas made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Boots, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Landyn Champion was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Garrett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 6-0 to Fairfield.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Garrett, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Central Noble suffered a grim 16-7 defeat to Garrett when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
