Basketball Recap: 11 Straight Road Wins for Dover

Dover entered their tilt with Smyrna on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They snuck past the Smyrna Eagles with a 57-52 victory. Given the Senators' advantage in MaxPreps' Delaware basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Eagles are ranked 28th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dover pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 22.9 points. As for Smyrna, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Dover will head out to challenge Sussex Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Sussex Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. Smyrna has already played their next matchup (against Salesianum), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
