Basketball Recap: New Castle Trojans vs. Morristown Yellow Jackets
The New Castle Trojans's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 67-26 victory over Morristown. That 41 point margin sets a new team best for New Castle this season.
New Castle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Miller, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Colin Taylor, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Morristown still got an impressive performance from Cade Mahin, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Morristown struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
New Castle pushed their record up to 8-9 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Morristown, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
New Castle will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Centerville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday. As for Morristown, they will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
