It was a good run, but Hazelwood East unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 85-61 to the Battle Spartans. While losing is never fun, Hazelwood East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Battle is ranked 20th).

Hazelwood East's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6. As for Battle, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Hazelwood East has already played their next contest (against Riverview Gardens), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Battle will face off against Rolla at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Battle has won six straight at home, while Rolla won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
