After flying high against Edgewood last Monday, West Geauga came back down to earth. The West Geauga Wolverines took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mayfield Wildcats on Saturday. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Wolverines couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Adison Cook, who's now up to 17 this season.

The loss snapped West Geauga's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-4-1 record. As for Mayfield, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Geauga will head out to challenge Hathaway Brown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hathaway Brown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season. As for Mayfield, they are taking a road trip to face off against Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
