Softball Recap: Fairview Takes a Loss

Fairview was the 6-2 winner over Crestview when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Apaches fell just short of the Knights by a score of 12-11 on Friday.

Bethany Shininger and Kayla Mavis stepped up to the plate in a big way. Shininger went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Mavis went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Amaya Perez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.

Fairview now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Crestview, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7.

Fairview has already played their next match, a 10-8 win against Evergreen on the 12th. As for Crestview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-4 defeat against Marion Local on the 12th.
