It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Mt. Vernon-Enola ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Central Arkansas Christian Mustangs, sneaking past 16-14. The victory was nothing new for the Warhawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Mt. Vernon-Enola pushed their record up to 10-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Central Arkansas Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-9.

Mt. Vernon-Enola and Central Arkansas Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arkansas Rankings. The Warhawks will square off against Heber Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (122 vs. 35). Meanwhile, Central Arkansas Christian (ranked 143rd) will meet Quitman (ranked 26th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
