Jefferson Davis County's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Magee Trojans get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.
D'Zayvianna Peyton made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kacey Hathorn, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Kavionna Myers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
Jefferson Davis County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Magee only posted an OBP of .267.
Jefferson Davis County's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Magee, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
