Softball Recap: Brownfield Takes a Loss

Brownfield fell victim to River Road and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 15-0 to the River Road Wildcats. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

Brownfield dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for River Road, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Brownfield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Denver City at 5:00 p.m. on February 25th. As for River Road, they will face off against Lubbock-Cooper at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lubbock-Cooper is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.
