Baseball Recap: Logan County Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Logan County duked it out with Franklin-Simpson on Tuesday. The Cougars won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Monday, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Tate McLean spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ty'Sean Thomeczek, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Noah Mosley was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Logan County's record is now 17-9. As for Franklin-Simpson, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 18-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Logan County will welcome Glasgow at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Franklin-Simpson, they will face off against Westmoreland at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
