Basketball Recap: Sedgwick Wins Going Away Against Pretty Prairie

Sedgwick saw some tournament action on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-36 victory over the Pretty Prairie Bulldogs. That 17 point margin sets a new team best for the Cardinals this season.

Sedgwick's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Budde led the charge by going 8 for 17 en route to 20 points and four steals. Budde's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Vondracek, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 16 points and seven boards.

Sedgwick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pretty Prairie only pulled down eight offensive boards.

Kayleigh Vogl and Kaylea Robinson certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Vogl dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Robinson went 5 for 11 en route to 10 points. What's more, Robinson also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023.

The win made it two in a row for Sedgwick and bumps their season record up to 3-4. As for Pretty Prairie, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Central Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Sedgwick will host Central Christian Academy on Tuesday, while Pretty Prairie will host them on Thursday.
