If Goddard wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Salina Central, they should've done a better job of containing Kaden Snyder. The Salina Central Mustangs managed a 59-54 win over the Goddard Lions on Friday thanks in part to Snyder, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 boards. He is becoming a predictor of Salina Central's success: when he posts at least ten rebounds the team is 4-2 (and 4-8 when he doesn't).

Gannon Cole was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Salina Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Goddard, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Salina Central will take on Newton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Goddard, they will challenge Andover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Andover has seven straight wins, Goddard has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
