Basketball Recap: Wapahani Extends Home Winning Streak to 18

Wapahani entered their tilt with Monroe Central on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Monroe Central Golden Bears 63-43. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Wapahani got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Camden Bell out in front who went 9-for-14 on his way to 20 points. Eli Andrews was another key player, going 8-for-12 to rack up 17 points.

Wapahani was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monroe Central only seven assists.

Monroe Central's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tashaun Beatty, who went 7-for-9 en route to 19 points and five boards. Beatty is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 78% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Easton Foster, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Wapahani's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points over those games. As for Monroe Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

Coincidentally, Wapahani and Monroe Central will both be playing Cowan the next time they take the court. Wapahani will host Cowan at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Monroe Central will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st.
