Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heritage). They blew past the Ponderosa Mustangs 65-40 on Friday. With the Eagles ahead 40-18 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Leading Heritage to victory were Skylar Peterson and Meilla Collins. Peterson dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten assists, while Collins went 6-for-12 to rack up 22 points. The dominant performance gave Collins a new career-high in points. Carol Belair was another key player, going 5-for-12 on her way to 11 points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Heritage was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Heritage's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 5-15. As for Ponderosa, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Heritage didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 35-32 win against Littleton on the 15th. As for Ponderosa, they will take on Chaparral at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
