Softball Recap: Cole Takes a Loss

Cole lost against Poteet back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars lost 16-8 to the Aggies. The Cougars' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Niyella Bay led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Katherine Zinnante also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Cole's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14-1. As for Poteet, they moved to 9-16 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cole will welcome Randolph at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Poteet, they will be playing at home against Jourdanton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians/Squaws will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Aggies surely won't give up without a fight.
