Softball Recap: Palm Beach Gardens Extends Winning Streak to Six

Palm Beach Gardens entered their tilt with Seminole Ridge on Thursday with five consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with six. They skirted past the Seminole Ridge Hawks 3-1. The Gators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hawks, too.

Shea Towns spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Victoria Scott, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Reagan Towns, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Palm Beach Gardens' win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Seminole Ridge, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palm Beach Gardens will face off against Wellington at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Wellington 1.1, Palm Beach Gardens 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Seminole Ridge, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Seminole Ridge Hawks duke it out with Forest Hill Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Forest Hill has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.25 runs per game on average), something Seminole Ridge will no doubt try to take advantage of.
