Baseball Game Preview: Winters Blizzards vs. Roby Lions

The Winters Blizzards will take on the Roby Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Winters is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 15.2 runs per game this season.

Winters' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Leakey with a sharp 16-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blizzards.

Leland Dunham made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. In other batting news, Woody Rios was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those hits were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Haydin Collins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Winters was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .720. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Roby fell victim to Ira and their airtight pitching crew last Friday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 13-0. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly 13 runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Roby and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Winters, their win bumped their record up to 3-0-1.
