Basketball Recap: Centennial Victorious

Centennial entered their tilt with East on Monday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They pulled ahead with a 57-56 photo finish over the East Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 72-64 back in December of 2024.

Centennial pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for East, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

Centennial won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Centennial likes a good challenge. As for East, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the East Tigers face off against the Beechcroft Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in East's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
