Recap: E.L. Haynes vs. BASIS Red Giants
E.L. Haynes fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against BASIS by a score of 58-45 on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for E.L. Haynes, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
E.L. Haynes found their leader in underclassman Juan Creamer, who scored 18 points. Jency Beatriz was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Despite the defeat, BASIS saw an underclassman step up: Timothy Chamberlain II scored 28 points. That was a full 62.2% of BASIS's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Hickman, who scored 13 points.
E.L. Haynes pushed their record up to 5-16 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for BASIS, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.
