Basketball Recap: Westwood Takes a Loss

Westwood lost against Dobson back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Westwood Warriors had to suffer through a 55-17 loss at the hands of the Dobson Mustangs. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Dobson was led to victory by Lana Shirley and Aamani Nolletti. Shirley went 6 for 9 on her way to 14 points and five steals, while Nolletti went 6 of 8 en route to 17 points and three steals. Those three steals gave Nolletti a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaria Rankin, who posted four points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Westwood's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Dobson, the win snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 6-13 record.

Westwood will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Skyline at 7:00 p.m. Westwood is facing Skyline at the right time seeing as Skyline is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Dobson, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-27 defeat against Sunnyside on the 24th.
