Beaverton is 2-8 against Aloha since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Beavers will face off against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Beaverton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Beaverton will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts on Thursday. The Beavers blew past the Mustangs 12-2. Considering the Beavers have won seven matchups by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Zinnia Berg made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Berg was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gracie Burnett, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Halle LaFontaine was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Aloha and Southridge meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Warriors walked away with a 5-1 win over the Skyhawks. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ava Cruz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Addie Lamb was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nellie Foust, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Aloha's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-9. As for Beaverton, their record now sits at 9-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Beaverton hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Aloha struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Beaverton couldn't quite finish off Aloha when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 13-11. Can the Beavers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
