Softball Game Preview: Hampshire Trojans vs. Keyser Golden Tornado

Hampshire hasn't had much luck against Keyser recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Trojans will take on the Golden Tornado at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Hampshire lost a heartbreaker the last time they played East Hardy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's match. The Trojans blew past the Cougars 11-2 on Wednesday. The Trojans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Keyser, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against Mountain Ridge on Thursday as they made off with a 17-9 victory. The win continues a trend for the Golden Tornado in their matchups with the Miners: they've now won five in a row.

Bibs Felton was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brielle Root, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Keyser's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Hampshire, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Hampshire might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Keyser in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
