Baseball Game Preview: Aquinas Academy Crusaders vs. Leechburg Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Aquinas Academy will face off against Leechburg. The Crusaders will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Aquinas Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with five straight defeats, while Leechburg will come in with seven straight wins.

Monday just wasn't the day for Aquinas Academy's offense. They lost 9-0 to Leechburg on Monday. The match marked the first time this year in which the Crusaders were not able to get on the board.

For Leechburg's part, Jake Cummings was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Cummings has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Rocco Vigna was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Leechburg's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Aquinas Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
